Jacob LANDIS in Westmoreland County
Posted by: Bob Landis Date: June 29, 1998 at 11:15:36
  of 54574

Looking for burial info on Jacob LANDIS from Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. He was born Nov. 1771 and
died Jul. 1849. His obituary in the "Pennsylvania Argus" states only that he died. His father was Christian LANDES from
YORK County and he was married to Nancy FLORA also from York County. They moved to Westmoreland County in 1813
and owned land in what is now Lincoln Heights.
Did he possibly die of Cholera due to the major epidemic at the time? If so, were mass graves used? Also, it appears that his
wife, Nancy, died before him but I can find no info about her either.
If you can help, please E-mail. Thanks.
