I'm trying to find information on my maternal grandfather, James C. Brown.I am interested in any info I can get on his ancestors.. I know he was born in Jackson Center in Feb. 1892. His mother died in 1898 or 1899 and he was raised by either a relative or a friend of the family in Mercer.. I have a record from the Children's Aid Society of Allegheny County which states his two sisters and a brother were left there by their father who could not take care of them. They were left on 12-7-1899. His sister Katherine was born 5-29-1893, brother, Ralph, B- 1-26-1898 and sister, Hazel, B-8-9-1898.. All in Mercer County. It also states "Father sent Christmas gifts - 1899" and "Mrs.Breckenridge of Mercer knows family." It also says Hazel-Married 7-25-1915 to Walter Johnson of Homestead, Pa. Any help would be appreciated..
