I'm at a tall stone wall and need help finding my Jane Andrews family! She is a widow in June 14, 1870 Lindley PA census living with son William, Alex, Charolette and Isabella. The son, James is living with wife Elizabeth. All son's working in coal mines. Where in Mercer County are the coal mines? Assume my ggrandmother died in Lindley, Mercer County PA, date unknown but she was 60 years old in 1870...Most likely she is buried in Mercer County....
Where do I look for cemeteries? Burial or death notices? Was there a newpaper in Mercer County then?
I have lost a trail after 1870. Can anyone help, advise or direct me? Any help is most welcomed and appreciated. Thank you! Judy Corcoran, Washington State.
