Herod/Herrod/Herritt of Lycoming County

We have recently connected the Herod's of Lycoming/Northumberland County, PA (1780's to early 1800's) to the Herriott's of New Jersey. I suspect that several families have been derailed by the spelling of the name as it varied so much in the census record. Particularly interested in proving Herritt's of this area are also descendents. Would like to start a dialogue with someone doing research on these families.
