Forgive me for being blunt, but if your father didn't know he wasn't Cornaielus's son why do you believe he wasn't? When and where exactly was your father born?

I suggest getting Alexander and Mary's obits. Hopefully they'll list surviving children (including the daughters married names). The obits of their children might list surviving siblings. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Genealogical Society in Shavertown might be able to help.

Estate files, orphans court records and deeds at the Luzerne County Courthouse may have the answers you seek.

Your father's marriage record(s) should give you some indication if he knew who his parents really were as many of the marriage application forms require listing data on parents.
