AGED LADY DEAD Jan. 28, 1911
Saturday afternoon occured the death of Mrs Ira Van Horn at her home on Centre Avenue after a two months illness of Typhoid-Neumonia. Deceased was stricken with paralysis three years ago, but rallied from it's effects and enjoyed good health until taken ill with ailment stated. Deceased would be 78 years of age next May had she lived. She is survived by her husband, Ira Van Horn, one daughter, Mrs Benjamin Jones of Wilkes-Barre,and one son attorney R.R. Van Horn of Jeanette Street this place, also two brothers Wilson and C.J.Zimmerman of Watertown. The family came to this town from Shickshinny 39 years ago and was numbered among the most respected residents of the place and one of the most earnest church workers until illness came upon her and prevented her further efforts in behalf of the church of which she was a faithful and life long member. In her death her husband loses a faithful wife, and her children a devoted mother. The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon with services at the house at 2 o'clock by Rev. W.T. Blair, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment will be in the family plot in the Forty Fort Cemetery.
FUNERAL OF MRS VAN HORN
Yesterday afternoon occured the funeral of Mrs Ira Van Horn. Services were conducted at her home on centre Avenue at 2 o'clock. The floral bouquets were placed in a carriage, which preceded the hearse to Forty Fort Cemetery, where burial was made in the family plot. A special car was provided for friends who did not go in carriages. At the cemetery,sevices were again conducted. The flower carriers were Bruce and Charles Zimmerman, and the pall bearers, Ward, Dale, Ray, Warden, George and Frank Zimmerman, all nephews of the deceased.
