My great grandfather, Charles Gildner, married (1)Anna A. Smith b. 10/20/1859; d. 5/10/1907; buried Middle Creek Cemetery, Monroe County, PA. Anna's father was Levi Smith b. abt. May 1832; married Rebecca (last name unknown)b. abt. 12/24/1829; d. 2/2/1907. Levi's parents may have been George Smith b. about 1801; married Rebecca b. about 1801.
I beleive this Smith family at one time lived in Berks Co. which became Monroe) or Lehigh County. At the time of the 1870 census, Levi owned a farm in Polk Township, Monroe County. Also in the household were wife, Rebecca Age 39; Elias, Age 13; Annie, Age 11; George, Age 10. By the time of the 1880 census his son-in-law Charles Gildner was also living in Levi's household. After Anna A.'s death, Charles Gildner married Anna's cousin Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith. Would be interested in any info re this Smith family.
