Dear Lorraine:

Our Archivist noticed your December 26, 2001 message while doing a search and asked me to follow up on it. We hold the archives of the German Reformed Church. Our file on John Conrad Klar includes a copy of his diary, 1861-1864, the period when he served St. Paul's Reformed Church in Wheatland, Iowa. He was the first pastor of that church. It is now St. Paul's United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 176, Wheatland, IA 52777. The church has the original diary in a "fireproof repository." There is also a biography of Rev. Klar in their Centennial Book, 1861-1961, compiled and written by C.Esther Copp. I hope they can provide copies of these documents for you. If not, let me know.
Dianne Russell, Researcher. Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society, 555 W. James St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
