Hi Michelle
It appears most of our ancestors hung out around the Blue Mountain!
My Rex family is probably the same as yours beginning with
Hans George leaving Germany, three generations of Wilhem/Williams to get to the father of my Joel/Joseph Rex b May 7, 1811 who married Rachel Rex b June 2, 1815. They have now crossed over the mountain and are my gr gr grandparents. Caroline their daughter married Joshua Steigerwalt, parents of my beloved Gran'ma Kate b June 22, 1873 who married Walter kleckner. Kate was born near the Lizzard Creek.
As for the Moyers--this is a many and tangled group. I am able to locate several Elis, Ellises, and Eliases but cannot find the proper one. I did recently find that Elias had a seconed marriage. The Moyers and wertmans were on both sides of the Blue Mountains as the Rexes, Steigerwalts, and my Lorah kin.
I am curious about your name, very French--the Lorah family was originally from France came to the colonies because of the Huguenot persecutions. How about the LeClairs?
thanks for the input
Joanne Lorah
