I am not researching the Herman family, but doing much Lehigh/Berks County research on other lines. I believe your Hermans can be found in the Lehigh Church records online at the following:
Enter herman and search. You want Church: Lehigh Church, Lower Macungie Twp. In there is Johannes Herman, son of Jacob who is confirmed on 7 Apr 1776 at age 15. There is a Philip, aged 15 confirmed on 4 Aug 1779, son of Jacob. A Friedrich appears as a baptismal sponsor, maybe a third brother?
Jacob Herman is on the 1762 Macungie Tax List, he is listed as an original member of Lehigh Church. The first complete consistory of the church, date of 1769, lists Jacob Hermann, deacon.
Another reference that may be connected:
"on the 24th of September, 1790, three men, viz: Andrew Eisenhard, Cornelius Hughes and John Herman, entered into an agreement, and made themselves responsible for the donation of two acres of land". It goes on to explain that this land is to build a schoolhouse in East Texas, which is a small village in Lower Macungie Twp., Lehigh County.
As to the birth or immigration of Jacob? I have no information at this time.
