Nathan/Nathaniel Hartline was born on July 28, 1826 in Northumberland Co. (recorded at Howeter Lutheran Church, Upper Mahanoy Township). It is believed that he left that area and settled in Swatara Township, Lebanon County, either in or near Jonestown. He is listed in the 1850 census as living at the Inn in Jonestown, E.G.Lantz, proprietor. In the 1870 census, he is listed in Swatara Township as being of age 40, with his wife Luretta (?), age 29, and Thomas, age 11, their son. The 1880 census has them listed as living in Jonestown, Swatara Township, with the head of household being John Hoch, age 64, Nathaniel Hartline, age 52, Amanda, his wife, age 39, and John J., grandson, age 2. Suspect Amanda could be Nathaniel's second wife. Amanda is the daughter of John Hoch. Trying to locate cemetery/burial records for Nathaniel, his wife(s), and any children that carry the Hartline name. Believe that any burials would have been in the Lutheran cemetery in Jonestown - might have been Reformed depending on wife's preferences. Does anyone either have access to burial records for the Jonestown area or know where they could be accessed. Also interested in any information concerning Thomas A. Hartline, son of Nathaniel, who is believed to have died in or close to the city of Lebanon. Perhaps baptism records for Thomas are located at a church (Lutheran?)in Jonestown. Any help/advice is appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
