John Belinson

John Belinson was born April 26, 1931 in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; enter Heavens gates March 20, 2009.

He was the son of his proud parents Demetre (Dan) Belinson and Emilia (Amelia) Chis (Kish).

His parents:
Demetre Belinson (Balantan, Belinkan, Belicen) first came to this country in 1909. Demetre had boarded the ship “Graf Waldersee” in Hamburg, Germany on January 23, 1909 and arrived at Ellis Island in the United States on February 5, 1909. Boarded on the ship with him was Gabor Belinson (Belinkan). Dimitri Belinson was born December 26, 1889 in Igris, Romania (would have been Hungry at the time of his birth). He died March 23, 1939 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He lays in rest at Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Emilia Chis (Amelia Kish) first came to this country with her father Gregoire Chis in 1921. They boarded the ship “Roussillon” in LeHavre, France on January 9, 1921 and arrived at Ellis Island in the United States on February 1, 1921. Emilia (Amelia) was a very “proud” women and had faced many challenges in her short life. She worked hard and raised her three children by herself after her husband passing away. She became a “Naturalized Citizen” November 17, 1947 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Emilia was born December 16, 1903 in Nadlac, Romania. She died September 21, 1965, New Castle, Pennsylvania. She lays to rest at the Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Demetre Belinson and Emilia Chis married April 28, 1922 in Trumball County, Ohio. On the marriage record it is recorded as follows:

Emilia Kish Mothers Name: Amelia Margan (Miltilka)       Fathers Name: George Kish
Certificate shows that Amelia Kish was living in Akron, Ohio and Dan Belinson was living in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

John Belinson was the youngest child of the five children.

1) Daniel Belinson, Jr., born September 19, 1924 and died 6 days later on September 25, 1924 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was a premature birth. He lays in rest at the Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

2) Anna Belinson was born June 13, 1926 and died August 10, 1926 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She died from Cholera. She also lays in rest at Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

3) Ruth Doris Belinson (Overby, Berry) was born 1927 in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She married Melvin Eugene Overby, September 8, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan. They had 4 children together. Keith, Jeanette “Jan”, Curtis “Curt” and Linda. Ruth also married Donald Berry. She lives in Michigan.

4) Florence Dolores Belinson (Kos, Digiacomo) (aka: Etza, Flo) was born March 8, 1929 and passed away August 22, 1993 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Florence married Charles “Carl” Kos, May 29, 1947. They had three children together, Delores “Dolly”, Diane and Carol “Cookie”. After the passing of her husband Carl she married Norm DiGiacomo.

5) John Belinson was born April 26, 1931 in West Pittsburgh. He passed away, Friday, March 20, 2009 in Houston, Texas. He will be laid to rest in Lawton, Oklahoma. He married Bobbie Bruce on October 31, 1950. They had three children together, Vickie, Daniel and Chad.
