Can Someone Help Solve a Mystery for Me? Foster/Firth Marriage
Posted by: Nancy Armstrong (ID *****8134) Date: April 17, 2012 at 09:56:34

I recently bought an old photo of a young woman. On the back of the photo it says "Eva E. Foster KAO June 11, '95 for Jane." I believe this young woman is Eva E. Foster, daughter of Jordan (J.R.) and Emma Foster that lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The photo was taken in Philadelphia, where she may have been attending school, which explains the sorority letters. According to census records, she was born in 1878. In December of 1900 or January of 1901, she married an E. H. Firth. I found him to be Edgar Harper Firth from Queens, New York. I would like to find out what happened to E. Harper, as Eva is listed as a widow in 1903, back living with her father and mother. I don't know if Eva died young too, or remarried. I can't find any record of her past 1903. Any help would be deeply appreciated, as I don't live in the Lancaster County area. Please feel free to e-mail me at
