B.J Neville-May 29, 1897 Scranton Times

Hi,

My grandfather, Bartholomew Joseph Neville, was a resident of Scranton, PA. He was very active in the community. At one point he was even nominated for congress. I found a Scranton Times newspaper from May 10, 1897. Apparently, it was for a toast to the Civil War soldiers of Lackawanna County, PA. There has been no family lore about him serving. Though I can't help wonder if he was there supporting friends, or a member being toasted also.

Bartholomew also used the nickname of B.J and Bartly. He was born 1843, somwhere in NY, grew up in Little Meadows, Susquehanna, PA, and died October 31, 1911, Hillside Home, Clarks Summit, PA.

Thanks,

Stefan
