Hello all!

I have been researching the family of John J. Thomas (1823-1875) of Scranton, Pennsylvania for several years now, and would be happy to share my research with anyone interested in this family. I would also like to obtain updated information on any of Johnís descendants listed below.

John J. Thomas was a coal miner born in Brynmawr, Breconshire, Wales. He was the son of John and Mary Thomas of Brynmawr. The family immigrated to Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1848. John and Elizabeth had the following children:

Elizabeth (b.1847)
Hannah (1848-1886) m. Tunis Thomas
John Jr. (1850-1923) m. Mary
David O. (1852-1923) m. Jennie Griffiths
Thomas J. (1854-1914) m. Sarah Davis
Jeremiah (b.1856) m. Alice Fletcher
Mary (b.1858) died young
Hosiah (1861-1932) m. Elizabeth Davis (his son Daniel was awarded the Carnegie Medal)
William H. (1863-1947) m. Mary Jane Hares
Benjamin Franklin (b.1868)
Daniel (1872-1888) killed in mines

Again, I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in this family.

Jeffrey L. Thomas
