It is such a coincidence that you responded to my posting at this time, for if you had contacted me last week, I wouldn't have had any information to share with you. Just this week, I connected with the son of one of my grandfather Harold MCGUIRE's first cousins -- a Joe MCGUIRE, who is in Scranton. While I don't know if the John NOLAN who was living with the NEARYs is part of your NOLAN line, the Annabelle MCGUIRE who married Clarence NOLAN, is a daughter of John MCGUIRE & Maryann Gillespie, a brother & sister-in-law of my great-grandfather, Michael Francis MCGUIRE. So it looks like we're related in some way.
Here is part of the e-mail I got from Joe MCGUIRE:
John and Mary Ann were my grandparents. They had ten children, Helen (McGuire) Hoban b. 4/24/1901; Annabel (McGuire) Nolan b. 1905; Alice McGuire b. 1906; Gerald b. 5/22/1911; John b. 9/9/1905; Joseph b. 2/18/1910; Robert b. 1913; Mary b. 1916; Francis b. Unknown; Margaret b. Unknown.
Francis and Margaret died very young. All siblings are now deceased, with Mary just last week.
I found the following obituary for Sr. Claranne Nolan on the Scranton Times online edition. It ran on December 2, 2001 in the Times; she died on December 1, 2001.
Sister Claranne Nolan, of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, died Saturday at the Marian Convent.

She earned a bachelor of music degree in elementary education from Marywood College and a master of arts degree in music from New York University.
She served as a teacher at Nativity of Our Lord elementary school, Scranton, from 1971 to 1976, at St. Clare's elementary school, Scranton, 1976 to 1978, at Holy Rosary elementary school, Scranton, 1978 to 1990, at St. Patrick's elementary school, Scranton, 1990 to 1996, and at elementary schools in Baltimore, Md., Asbury Park, N.J., Spangler, Altoona, Lock Haven, Providence, R.I., Nyack, N.Y., and Brooklyn, N.Y. From 1996 until her illness, she served at Blessed Sacrament elementary school, Staten Island, N.Y.
Surviving are a brother, James, The Villages, Fla.; three nephews; and four grandnephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Mass at the Marian Convent. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Friends may call Monday after 2 p.m. at the Marian Convent.
Memorial contributions may be made to the IHM Retirement Fund, IHM Center, 2300 Adams Ave. 18509.
If you'll contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I will give you Joe McGuire's e-mail address; perhaps he has more information on the NOLANs.
