I am seeking the parents of one of my great-grandmothers, Catharine (Nickle/Nickel/Nicklos) Brown. According to her obituary (attached at the bottom of this post) her parents were Joseph and Sophia Nickel (I have I think that it could also be Nickle and I have family lore with Nicklos). It also states that she was born in Juniata County, PA in 1844 so this sets a minimal timeframe for residence. I have looked through the census information with no luck (I use HeritageQuest and the 1850 census is not searchable). The children of Joseph and Sophia that I am aware are: Catharine (1844) married to George Brown Emma Ellen (1861) married to Irvin Wallace McNaight Sarah married to ? Naylor Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am more than willing to share anything I have with other researchers.
