Darla,

I have:

parents: Jonathan L. Reitz b.Mar 19 1849, no dod, m. 1868 to Elizabeth Young, b. Aug. 1846. Dates per 1900 census records.

This note on Della's marriage:
"Note: Franklin C. Shaffer married a Mary F. Reitz on April 9, 1891. However, the marriage license application does not list her parents. In place of hers is Shaffer’s mother’s name.

What’s more, although Mary F. was listed as being 21 years of age, the Consent section of the page is partially filled in with the written name of W. H. Yoder (as the one giving permission.) But other than listing his residence, the document is blank - as if it was begun on this page by mistake.

But in the Duplicate Certificate, filled in based on info provided by whomever conducted the wedding, it states the the marriage was performed”at ‘the residence of J. Reitz” by Daniel Reitz, a J. P.

This latter note is consistent with this Della’s father’s name, Jonathan.

Is Della actually Mary Fidella?

The b date for this person may be that of her sister Ida, the entry in the census being nearly illegible.

`Siverling, Della Reitz
1875
1944

from Shannondale Cemetery index by Al and Fran Plyler"

Let me know what more you need.

I have no info on her children other than names, but lots more on the Reitz side.

-Paul
