ELLEN CARLSON OR ELLEN MANDUS/CARLSON

I do not know if I am in the right county or not but I am searching for information on Ellen (Carlson), Ellen (Mandus), or even Ellen (Huttly/Stott).

I am doing a STOTT FAMILY HISTORY/MEMORY BOOK and there was a Matt (Huttly) who was adopted by William and Anna Stott.
In various records and a photo that I have that was in my mother's posession of Matt and "sister" Ellen, ellen's name has appeared in the above various last names.

The first time that I came across her name was in a ship list on the Lord Gough that came to America from Liverpool England either in 1886 or 1887, depending on where you see the ship list. The ship did port at Philadelphia, that part is consistant.

She is listed as coming over with her mother, Margret Huttly and brother Matt or Matthew, in one record they were all born in England and the mother was a widow and the father born in America.

in other records later on the family is listed as mother all born in America except for the mother. and always the father born in America but never was his name listed.

This family came over on the same ship as my grandfather, his parents, william and Anna Stott and his brother Thomas and are listed right below their names. and this is true in all records that i find about Ellen and her mother and brother.

but when I find matt, Ellen's brother next in about 1910 or 1915 he is listed in a census record as being sdopted by William Stott at about age 15 and being born in Frugality, Pennsylvania.

The Stott family lived in Frugality and the vacinity for a while and some of the children to William and Anna were born in the area so it is possible that matthew was at least there.

from the time that Ellen, Matt and their "mother Margret arrived to America and the time I see matt being adopted I see no mention of Ellen or her mother at all.

Now there was a "Maggie Stott" listed as a "daughter" to william and Anna in a family line that was given to me by my mother's aunt's grandson a few years ago but there is noone who has any information for me about this "maggie". I wonder if she culd be the margret who came over with Ellen and Matt when william and Anna came over.

Now, the reason that I am writing about this Ellen "with so many names" is that I am trying to put her together with our STOTT family and I know that one of the Stott girls married a John Carlson and they lived in clymer, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. some folks say that Ellen was a daughter to Maggie and that the Carlson's adopted her and others said that ellen was their daughter but I have no record of that as i think I have record of all of their childen as I have photo's and other info as well as a genealogy of the Carlson family that was given to me by a Carlson family member from Clymer, Pa. I have a photo of Ellen and Matt but don't see anywhere where I can add an attachment of it here, but if anyone has any information about how I can solve this situation and incorporate Ellen to my family history/memory book I would really appreciate it very much.
I have information tht she lived in Ramseytown, McIntyre,Pa. and in Indiana and Clearfield counties Pennsylvania.
thank you very much
