Posted by: Jane Curci (ID *****5058) Date: March 09, 2014 at 14:54:35
In Reply to: Where is Hummell and the Reformed Church Cemetery? by suzy of 1810

It has been called St. Paul's E&R (Evangelical Reformed)located in the Village of Russellville, Hopewell Township, Huntingdon County.

My great grandfather, Oliver W. CLAPPER was born 23 APR 1845 in Hopewell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, and died 17 FEB 1911 in Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., PA. He was buried in St. Paul's Evangelical Reformed Cem., Russellville, Hopewell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA

Today it is called:
Saint Pauls UCC Church Cemetery
Russellville
Huntingdon County
Pennsylvania, USA

Gloria J. Smith, commissioned Linnaria “Polly” Wheland and her husband, Edwin to record the Russellville Cemetery records. The record was completed 18 April 1982.

Gloria sent the records to me so that I could transcribe them. I transcribed them to share with other researchers and Huntingdon County websites.

Jennifer Stahl, Executive Director, Huntingdon County Historical Society sent the following information about Linnaria “Polly” Wheland”. Polly Wheland, a member of the Huntingdon County Historical Society, worked as a full time professional genealogist for the Huntingdon County Historical Society (1970-1983).
When she retired, she worked part-time as a professional genealogist (1983-circa 2000)
As Polly completed the Russellville cemetery records (Village of Russellville, Hopewell Township, Huntingdon County), she walked the graveyard and looked at at every single stone, dusting the stones with cornstarch so she could get accurate readings.
