From The Tenmile Country and Its Pioneer Families: Children of Joseph and Jane Martin Dunn: (1)Washington Dunn, died 6 Mar 1888. aged 69 Years, 11 months, 12 days; married Sarah Craig, who died 7 Mar 1882, in her 66th year. Buried Mt. Zion, (2) James M. Dunn, married Dorcas Ross, (3) Morgan L. Dunn, married three times, (4) William Dunn, married Florence Swartz, (5) Joseph Dunn, married Elizabeth Montgomery, (6) John Dunn, never married, (7) Anna Dunn, never married.
The above Jane Martin who married Joseph Dunn was born 1791 and died 13 June 1863. She was the daughter of James and Anna (McMyrtre) Martin. She married ca 1817. Joseph Dunn was the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Haines Dunn. Joseph was born in 1789 and died 15 Dec 1865.
Jane Martin's father, James, was the son of Zepheniah Martin from Middlesex Co., New Jersey, who came to Greene Co. ca 1784 on the dividing ridge between what is now Washington and Greene Counties. James Martin had served in the New Jersey militia and was married to Anna McMyrtre when he arrived in Greene Co. James bought out the warrant rights of Phineas McCray and secured his patent on 22 Feb 1791. The land joined that of John Fulton and was near the farm of Thomas Moore. When James Martin's first wife died ca 1800, he maried Katherine Moore, daughter of Thomas and Eunice Moore. She was much his junior and outlived him by many years. She died 27 Dec 1856, age 77 yrs, 21 days. She is buried at Mt. Zion Cem. James died 18 Sept 1827.
