Hi Patricia:
WhenI saw your list: John,Mary,Rachel,Ann Sarah,Zachariah, etc. I could have been reading my Davis family names. although you don't mention such family I'll bet your Davis was named for Davis in his ancestry. "The Tenmile Country . . " mentions Benjamin Davis, page 241, who m. Elizabeth Harrod. You will also notice the Newland and Harrod marriages.
My g2grandfather, John Davis, m. Mary Newland, d/o Isaac Newland and Mary Allen. Mary Newland appears to be a gr. dau. of Adam Nnewland and Mary Harrod. Always looking for Davis information. Joe
