I wish I could give you more info on the Thorne family. I knew of an Elmer Thorne that attended Carmichaels High School back in the late 50s. I think at one time he and his wife/family lived in Crucible for a short period of time.
Strangely enough, I came across someone last week in Carmichaels that I thought was Elmer's brother and almost asked about him. The last I heard of Elmer was that he moved to the Uniontown mountains, Fayette County.
There is a Marion R. Thorne listed in the phone directory in Jefferson at 724 883-3675. Three listings for Waynesburg: E.M; Jason M. Mary E. and one listed in New Freeport: Jeffrey L. and one more in Spraggs: Ryan N.
Hope this helps.
