I was born and lived most of my live in Crucible. I didn't know this family that well only to know who they were. I can't remember for sure now, but think the son and father were both Joe. Joe is what is listed in the telephone book. Ethel and her husband only had one child and he was younger than me, so I'm not that familiar with him. The son's wife's name is Marlene.
There were two Smoody families in Crucible at one time. I can't remember the parent's names of the other family. Their son, Steve was in grade school with me back in the late '50s and he didn't go on to high school. I remember he had a younger sister and possibly another sibling.
There is a George Smoody listed in the phone book also. He may be a brother to Steve at 724 966-2178 and lives about ten miles from here in Nemacolin.
Where Ethel lived would have a Rices Landing mailing address since Crucible doesn't have any postal rural routes. The name of the road is Carmichaels Street but I don't know what the house number is. You may be able to get a letter to them with just this information since you are reluctant to call.
