Glenn P. Haney,
I have information on Phoebe Cowell and her family lineage back to Michael Cowell of Switzerland. The information has been obtained from Gordon Baker's book "Daniel and Rebecca Stewart family" (Daniel Stewart is Phoebe's son). Phoebe's tombstone says she was b. 1784. She filed for a divorce in 1820 from Jeremiah Stewart and it became final on Oct. 22, 1820. Phoebe remarried to Crumpston (believed to have been Henry Crumpston according to family interview) but no children were found to have been born to this union. Phoebe is buried in Garards Fort Cemetery. Phoebe died Jan. 27, 1848 at age 64. Jeremiah and Phoebe had 7-9 children (Daniel, Hiram, John, Jeremiah, James, Charles and possibly a Sary(Sarah) and William--which the last two may have been by a different marriage of Jeremiah). How far have you traced back on Phoebe's side? I have the names of her parents and siblings that Mr. Baker obtained from her father's probated will in Greene County, Pa.
