The Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project is now reformatted, reindexed, and online at www.GreeneConnections.com in the "Photo Archives" section.
The processing of backlogged photographs has begun and updates will be posted as new collections are added.
Here are some tips for using the new photo archives system:
***Though it looks like you could edit, this site is set up as a read-only site to the public. This is so that no one accidentally changes information, tags, etc. Any edits, questions, additions, can be emailed to email@example.com.
***When you "Enter the Photo Archives" you can go to the albums and select a specific collection/series to view only those photos. This is valuable in order to see a collection in its context, original order (when applicable), etc. In this way you may be most able to help identify unknown photos.
***However, after viewing those specific photos, or just in order to see all images shared, you MUST set the album selection at "Show All Pictures." This is the only way to see across collections and see the real value of the "Greene Connections" project.
***When you wave your mouse over the tagged area of a photo or over the names on the index list, you will see a little green tree icon. If you click that tree, it will show you relationships for the person and you can click on other people in their tree to see their photos. Just again, be certain that your album setting is at "Show All Pictures" so that you can see images across collections.
***When looking at a photo, if you click the arrows by the ID number in the "title" field, it will open additional fields with documentation, dates, notes, etc.
***To download the full size images, click the photo so that it is featured on your screen, and then look at its thumbnail below. On that thumbnail is a download arrow icon. Just click that and save the image to your computer.
Thanks so much,
