Tod, Todd Township, Fulton County

I am looking for information on the formation of Tod/Todd Twp. Up until 1840 when Fulton was still part of Bedford, there was no Tod Twp. and the whole area was Ayr Twp. When Fulton was taken from Bedford by 1850 there was a Tod Twp. Was current Tod/Todd Twp. once a part of Air/Ayr Twp in old Bedford?

Thanks for any help.
