Jordans of Fulton and Bedford Counties
Posted by: Robert Catalano (ID *****9657) Date: September 12, 2004 at 10:24:19

I would like any information concerning the John & Jane (McMurren) family who lived in Bedford County until 1850 and in Fulton County after its creation in 1850. They lived in both Air and Belfast Townships, and a place called McConnell's cove. They had ten living children (8 boys and two girls) of which four are buried at McConnellsburg Presbyterian Cemetary, as are John and Jane.
Two of their children, Francis and Samuel, became well known in politics (Francis in Pennsylvania and Samuel in Gentry Co., MO.)with Francis becoming Secretary of the Commonwealth and Samuel a District Judge.
Francis and Samuel were also cousins to Bedford Co. residents John R. Jordan and his son, attorney, John H. Jordan. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
