As I posted in my earlier message check with the local libraries in your area to see if they have Ancestry.com. Access to Ancestry at libraries is free. You can also try familysearch.org which is free anywhere. SSDI (Social Security Death Index) is free on a number of websites including if I remember correctly at Rootsweb.

Probably the best places to contact would be the Coyle Free Library, Franklin County Historical Society and the Chambersburg Family History Center, all three of which are in Chambersburg. They should be willing to help you find your grandfather's obituary and hopefully they may also have some information on the Small Family from the area.

As for his birth and death certificate, as I posted you earlier, you can get them from the PA Vital Records office. They will cost you $10 and $9 respectively. Getting both will help to ensure you are on the right track and not waste a lot of time tracing the wrong persons.
