A John Saladay owned land in the disputed VA PA border in 1780 on Georges Creek. This land was transferred to PA Jurisdiction. The land was sold to a Wm Mitchell about 1787 (Georges and Nicholson Twps). Parcell was called the Fork.
Looks like a John Saladay also had land in Redstone and Brownsville Twp right about this time the Georges Twp land was sold. In 1807 a John Salliday got land in Menallen Twp Fayette Co..
My ancestor Maria Magdalena Vogler/Fogle b 1763 York Pa married a John Salliday. Does anyone know of this John Salladay of Fayette Co Pa..trying to see if this might be her husband. They (john and Magdalena) had daughters Elizabeth and Sarah who also married Fogle brothers named Peter and Michael respectively and moved to Ohio about 186-1818 in Noble Co. Believe they were married to cousins. Contact me at selsorhd@mac.com. Harry Selsor
