I am assuming then, that Nelson is a family name, not the author of this historical book. Thank you for your response and interest in Presley Carr Lane.

Circumstantial evidence has led me to believe that my Lane family is connected to the Presley Carr Lane family of Loudoun Co., Va. Presley Carr Lane, b. 1764 in Loudoun Co. (m. Sarah Stephenson) left Va. & moved to Bullskin Twp., Fayette Co., Pa. abt. 1792. He became Speaker of the Senate for the State of Pennsylvania. My GGGgrandfather, Lawrence Lane and members of Presley Carr Lane's family were in the same areas... at the same time and I have seen photos of descendants of this Lane branch and the resemblance to my line is stunning....worth checking into.
