Thomas Jones (b.1860)and Agnes Eleanor Allen (b.1862)were married in Worcestershire, England,on August 3, 1884, and immigrated to the US the next year with their infant son, George Gilbert Jones. Their son Thomas Milton Jones was born in St. Louis, MO, in 1887, followed by Percy Allen Jones, born in Scottdale,PA, in 1890. The parents lived most of their remaining years in Fayette County, in the Uniontown/Connellsville area, as did their oldest and youngest sons. Only their son Thomas Milton had living offspring.
Long after Thomas Milton's death, I recalled his story about watching an uncle march off to the Spanish-American War when he was about 10. What uncle? It suddenly dawned on me that at least one other member of the Jones or Allen family apparently had also immigrated to the area, but I had no one to ask. A child's photo inscribed to "Grandpa and Auntie Ag, Love Georgie" inclines me to believe that the relative was an Allen. Agnes' father was George Allen and a Harriet Allen served as witness for her marriage.
I realize that immigration records should be of help, but I haven't solved that hurdle yet. Thomas Milton Jones said his parents entered the US by way of Galveston, TX, then moved up the Mississippi to St. Louis, M0. I've not been able to confirm that.
I'm open to information, supposition, and helpful hints.
