That might depend on where he died although he was buried in Erie. Try the Erie County Public Library and the Erie County Historical Society. The Erie Family History Center might be willing to help you as well.

Assuming he died in Pennsylvania you might try to get his death certificate from the PA Div. of Vital Records which should have his parents. The cemetery may also have something on him. Sometimes burial records have important data. If nothing else you can check to see who else is buried in the same plot: http://www.eriecemeteryassoc.com/search_genealogy.php
