You said that John was born in 1885 and Albertina was born in 1858. Are you sure of those years? Was Albertina 27 years older than John? John couldn't have emigrated three years before he was born.

Here are some possibilities for Albertina found on the Emibas CD. Emibas was made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete but it is much less complete in the years after the mid-1890s. (I don't see any possibility on Emibas for a John born 1885 in Väse parish.)

Maybe one of the two belongs to you. Kronoberg is in Småland province, so the second hit might be the best possibility, but it appears that the first hit also was in Småland at the time period of emigration. (Halland is now its own province.) Smaland is an Americanized spelling of Småland.

Please clarify when John was born.
