Illegitimate child

My Grandmother's sister Catherine had an illegitimate child whose date/place of birth are listed as 15 May 1924 in Chester. Until she turned 16 in early 1923, Catherine had been a resident of a girls' orphange in Philadelphia. Since she was relatively young, I suspect that Catherine utilized some sort of charitable organization in Chester during her pregnancy.

Both Catherine and her child are long dead. But I am interested in finding out how Chester entered into her life at this stage--perhaps some knowledge of how the pregnancy came about or whoever helped her. Our family lore includes little but a sketchy mention of Philiadelphia and none of Chester. Shortly after the birth of this child, Catherine moved to Phillipsburg (NJ) where he was baptized. The baptismal record is my source for his date and place of birth. It lists no father.
