This is what I know about my Rhoads family. They came from Philadelphia but my family ended up in Corning, NY around 1920 or so.

1. Daniel Rhoads born in PA (date unknown) married Elizabeth Clark also born in PA (date unknown) [Steuben Co, Ny historical society]. This family apparently had 7 sons because they had a moving company in Philadelphia called 7 Brothers Moving Company.

2. Daniel & Elizabeth gave birth to my gr.grandfather, John Edward Rhoads born 8/9/1884 and died 6/16/1936. He married Anna A. (de) Fratis 11/25/1882-12/24/1944.[ her parents were William Fratis and Mary Price born in PA]
1910 census has the family living in New Castle DE, 1920 census has them living in Johnstown, PA, and 1930 in Corning, Steuben County, NY.

3. John Edward and Anna had 4 children: John E. Jr. 1907-1973 born in Brooklyn, NY died in Big Flats, Ny.; Charles Haas Rhoads b. 1909 in Wilmington DE and died 1977 in Corning, New York.; Alfred Fratis Rhoads b. 1913 or 1914 in Johnstown, PA and died 1978 in Valois, New York, and Anna Dorothy b. about 1916 in Johnstown, PA and died in North Las Vegas, Nevada around 1999.

I am searching the origins of the Daniel and Elizabeth Rhoads family and the Fratis family. Thank you Rita Rhoads Maury
