Update:
From Civil War pension records from Jesse Cain's son Jesse Smith Cain, I have determined that Jesse Cane/Cain/Kain (b c1788 PA d 1850 Pickaway Co OH) had a son John G. Cain (b 1816 PA d 1875 IN), in addition to the previously named Jesse Smith Cain and Sarah Cain. Also, there are some census records which might be for the Jesse Cain family, and if so, there are additional unnamed sons and daughters.
The possible migration route for the Jesse Cain family now likely includes a stop in Richland County Ohio (Chester Co PA, Cumberland Co PA, Greene Co PA, Richland Co OH, Pickaway Co OH).
I also have completed record searches in Cumberland County Greene Co. via local volunteers and we have been unable to find any records of Jesse Cain in Cumberland Co. PA.
Thus, I have been unable to connect Jesse Cain with any of the known Cain families living in the county between 1800 and 1850.
I am still interested in comparing DNA results with anyone who has a male Cain family member with a Cumberland Co. PA connection.
