County

The state did not begin to keep official death records until 1906. The county kept some from 1893 to 1906. These are by no means complete, and did not usually indicate parents unless the deceased was a child. These are at the Clerk of Courts Office, county court house. The county historical society has a good run of newspapers, so you might be able to find an obituary, or at least an announcement of death. e-mail them at cchsresearch@zoominternet.net. Also you could check to see if he left a will (Register and Recorder's Office, county court house).
