According to the will of Lorentz Ebner, 1842, Northampton County, Lorentz' daughter Catharine was then already deceased, and had married one Anthony Bachert, and her share of Ebner's estate was to pass to her children.

Rishel may well have been a name of a second marriage, as Anthony and Catharine had divorced in Columbia County in 1824.

So, it now appears that there was no Catharine Rishel who married an Anthony Bachert. There may well have been a Catharine (Ebner) Bachert who married a Rishel.

The name Jacob Rishel keeps popping up unexplained in Ebner and Bachert probate records, which may be a hint as to which Rishel Catharine (Ebner) Bachert married. Which then raises the question, which Jacob Rishel. There are 3 of them in Columbia County in the 1830 census.

Still having fun with this one!

Joe
