Looking for any information about this Henry GEIGER, whose son Henry filed a petition with the Orphans Court in the August 1839 term to direct an inquest so that partition of the late Henry's property could be made among his widow and surviving children. He died intestate and left a widow Mary and eleven children: "to wit" Absolam, Daniel, Henry the Petitioner, Jacob, Joseph, Eli, Solomon, Eve who intermarried with Philip Hinebach [who was deceased at the time of the petition], Elizabeth intermarried with John Kreitz, Susan intermarried with Peter Heinebach, and Mary intermarried with George Shane.
Some internet sources say that Henry's wife was Mary Hill, and I have found another source that says her name was Magdaline Hillin. I would like to find out what her true name was and when and where they were married. I understand that they previously lived in Berks County, where they appear on the censuses of Berks Co. up through the 1820 census. After that, they are in Columbia Co.
It is very difficult to sort out the various Henry Geigers. Any help documenting this particular one will be very much appreciated. I am descended from his daughter Elizabeth who married John Crites [Kreitz/Creitz/Critz, etc.] probably around 1815 and went to Wisconsin where they settled in Walworth Co.
