Murder of John VAN LIEW - need newspaper sources
Posted by: Debra Ives (ID *****1633) Date: September 03, 2003 at 13:14:33

Is there a list of local or county newspapers / newsletters from the 1800's I could reference for information on a murder?

There is a notice in the Sullivan Review from 1883 offering a $1000 reward for a murder that took place in Columbia County. I would like to find the the original newspaper article which reported it.

The murder probably took place in 1887 or 1888 in Orange Twp where he lived.

Any information or direction on where to look is most appreciated.
