Am researching the family of William Heslet/Haslet/Heslit who lived in Derry Twp, which was first in Northumberland, then Columbia, now Montour County, PA. He and his family lived in the same spot from at least 1790 through the 1830's onward. William was born about 1752 died about January 1832. Known children are: (1)Margaret Haslet who married a Wilson, then Richard Savage, and moved to Cass County, MI by 1840. (2) John Haslet who married Leatitia Dunlap, from Bucks County, PA. John and Leatitia moved to St. Joseph County, IN about 1837. Other possible children of William Heslet are (3) Helena Haslett who married James Logan and moved to Highland County, OH by 1830, (4) Sarah Heslet who married a James Johns(t)on and remained in the area, living with their children in 1850 in Anthony Twp, Montour County,(5) Irwin Haslet, who married an Elizabeth, whose maiden name was possibly Donaldson (6)Andrew, (7) William Haslet, Jr. who married, then possibly divorced a Jane Marshal, (8) James who married Anna Dye and had children Timothy, John Alfred, Mary Jane and Eliza (9) Robert, who was a carpenter and (10) Frances, who married William Whitaker, and had a son, William Heslit Whitaker, and a daughter, Elizabeth, who married Abraham Cramer.

I don't know if all of the above were part of the same family, but they were all Haslet people living in Columbia County during the above-referenced time period. Any connections to any of these people would be most welcome!
