Thomas & Hulda (maiden name nk & parents born Sweden) MOORE, Du Bois 1930 Census

I am looking for Thomas MOORE who was born in Belfast or Lisburn C1880 and is the son of William John MOORE & Mary Jane FENTON (FINTON).

William's father was Hugh S. MOORE and Mary Jane's parents were Daniel FENTON (FINTON) & Agnes O'NEIL.

It was known that he went to 'America' as a young man and I very recently discovered that he was living at 40 Charles Terrace, W. Philadelphia, PA, USA in April 1921.

This is the address shown on the shipping records for the arrival of his sister, Kathleen (Kitty) MOORE aboard the S.S. Haverford at Philadelphia on 13 April 1921. Kathleen is shown as going to join her brother, Thomas MOORE, who is also recorded as having paid her fare.

I have now found a World War I Draft Registration Card, completed 5 June 1917, by a Thomas MOORE, age 28, Single, residing at 51 Wiota Street, Philadelphia, PA. His date of birth is shown as 13 February 1889, born in Lisburn, Belfast, Ireland.

He is recorded as an alien and British Subject employed in 'Fire repairing' by Lynch Fire Co at 1333 Race Street.

He is also shown as having previous service as a Private, in the 1st & 6th Regiment (there is additional information, which is illegible).

I am reasonably confident that this Thomas MOORE is the same one shown on the shipping records for his sister, but need to obtain his birth certificate to confirm it.

So far the only possible Census record for 'my' Thomas MOORE, that I have found, is in the 1930 Census for Du Bois City, Clearfield County, PA.

This shows Thomas MOORE age 46 employed as Fireman on the Railroad, born in Irish Free State, as were his parents. His age at first marriage was 39.

This Thomas MOORE's wife is shown as Hulda MOORE age 38, born in Pennsylvania, with both parents born in Sweden. Her age at first marriage was 31.

There are no children shown on the Census record for this couple.

I am not convinced that the Du Bois Thomas MOORE is the same one I am researching, in part because the age does not quite match and also because the place of birth is recorded as 'Irish Free State.' However, I would like to be able to 'eliminate him from my enquiries.'

Can anyone enlighten me on any of this or, suggest what I might do to further my research.

As an aside, there are, as far as we are aware, no living descendants for Kathleen MOORE so that is not an avenue we can use. We know that Kathleen married a Joseph Francis CLAUSE, they had two daughters, Nancy & Bernadette. Kathleen & Joseph lived and died in Philadelphia and it is thought likely that their daughters are also deceased.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
