I believe that the mine was the Eleanora Mine located in Jefferson County, McClamont Township. DuBois, located in Clearfield Co., whould have reported it in their newspaper.
Another newpaper that my have covered the accident would be the "Spirit", Punxsutawney PA

Below is a link to the Eleanora Mine and includes a link to the "Coal Miners Memorial Eleanora Mines & Coke Works" which list the 13 miners killer and an additional miner that was injured.
