I am looking for information on my family. Here is the information that I do have: My great-grandfather's name was Valentine McEvoy (changed later to McAvoy) and he was born in 1845 somewhere in Ireland. He married Jane Hefferan, also born in Ireland 1845. They had three children born in Ireland, Edward Anthony born in 1880, James born in 1881 and Katherine born in 1883. They emmigrated from Ireland to the US in 1883 and settled in Rush townwhip, Centre county, PA -- they MAY have lived in Portarlington, Kings County, Ireland prior to that. A fourth child, William was born in 1886, in Rush Township. Lived in Osceola Mills and Edindale, PA.

Edward Anthony married Elizabeth Helen Galvin of Houtzdale Pennsylvania. They had three children: Dorothy Rita 1921, Edward Jerome 1927, and Isabell Jane 1932.

James married a woman whose first name was Stella. They resided in Osceola Mills, PA and had eight children, whom he mostly called by nicknames: Valentine (Mac), Vince (Punch), Bill, Jack, Rita (Toot), Loretta (Sis), and "Honey" and "Honey Dear" (do not have given names for the last two.

Catherine was stricken with polio as a child and was wheelchair bound for the remainder of her life. She lived with her father, Valentine, until his death. She later resided with Edward Anthony and his family.

William married Mary Redding adn they resided in Osceola Mills, PA. They had two daughters: one named Jane who later lived in Cleveland, OH and another daughter who married a John Roberts and resided at State College, PA.

If you have any information on my family, please reply.
