Hello! I'm a descendant of Simon Hile; he was my great-great-grandfather. His brother John Hile was captured at Plymouth, NC and sent to Andersonville Prison. He was force-marched/evacuated to the Florence Stockade, SC and died there. I have copies of the documents submitted by his widow for a war pension, which I submitted to get his name added to the list of known dead in the Florence Stockade.

My great-grandmother was Anna Rettig who married George C. Hile. Alverda Hile Netrick was her daughter and my grandmother.

Please feel free to contact me about the Hiles & Rettigs.

Lorraine
