Christian Moyer & Elizabeth Root were married sometime prior to Dec 1800 when Elizabeth's father wrote his will in which he mentioned his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Christian Moyer. I found baptisms of 2 children at Zion Lutheran Church - Margaretha Christina in 1808 & Elisabeth in 1813. Elizabeth (Root) Moyer was mentioned in Chester County Deeds in 1806, 1807, & 1816. In the 1820 Coventry census, Christian was a widower with 4 children.
In Dec 1820 at Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Meyer (Moyer) married Elizabeth Quigg. The only Elizabeth Quigg I can find is the widow of John Quigg (died in 1815). Elizabeth Quigg was in the 1820 Coventry census as a head-of-household with 4 children.
In 1822, in the estate file of John Rhoads, is daughter Elizabeth, wife of Christian Moyer. In 1828 at East Vincent Reformed is the death record of Elizabeth, wife of Christian Moyer & daughter of John Rhoads.
So....was Christian Moyer married to 3 diffferent Elizabeths?
Or was Elizabeth, widow of John Quigg, a daughter of John Rhoads?
One additional piece of info - Elizabeth, widow of John Quigg, filed a Letter of Attorney naming Daniel Rhoads to handle the administration of her husband's estate. But in the Letter of Attorney, Daniel was described as "my trusty & loving friend". If widow Elizabeth Quigg was a daughter of John Rhoads, Daniel would be her brother - not a friend.
But....could that be an error on the part of the person who wrote the Letter of Attorney for Elizabeth. If such an error was made, Elizabeth might not know since she probably could not read or write. She signed her name with an "X".
Anyone have any additional info on Christian Moyer & his wives named Elizabeth?
