I checked the probate records of Chester and surrounding counties till about 1840, hoping to find Wm mentioned in the will of a parent, but no mention of a William as a heir, witness, etc. I tried to check with the Chester Co Archives and Records for later records, but it's not working right now....if I were you I'd try later. It'll give you all Glendening wills (although not when the name appears in the wills of others, as the CD does) But, there may be something of interest.|34185|
I checked the 1765 Chester Co archives and the only Glendening included is;
James Glendening, who owned 100 acres in Fallowfield
I have posted many,many tax records for Chester, on the Chester Co rootsweb site...have you gone through those, looking for potential parents for Wm? That's worth a try.
