I looked in THE HISTORY OF CHESTER COUNTY PA, by Futhey and Cope and there are no Custers...this includes many landowner/tax lists...2 named Custard in the book , but wrong given names and dates. While there are many William/Williams, there is no Nasmith.....
I looked at the CD of PA wills and the first mention of a Custer in a Chester Co will is in 1812, the administration papers for an Elizabeth Custer, administrator, Peter Custer. If interested, you can obtain a copy of these adm papers from Chester County Archives and Records....visit their online site for 'how to' instructions. I also found no mention of Nasmith in any Chester co wills...(was hoping for a mention in a parent's will, but no luck).
