I went back and checked for Charles under the Holman spelling, but nothing for him. Eli is, however, registered under this spelling, too, so you might want to check them all to see if they differ...they may be different 'sign up' periods - I didn't pay any attention. These cards do give the location of the original documents by volume and pg #. I'm sure you know, too, that militias were under state not federal rule, so won't appear in the NARA records....but, check on the War of 1812, for Eli. You never know what records will contain.
